Mother’s Day

motherI was blessed with a great mom. She’s both meek and mild, but likes her food hot. She’s raised me since birth and has helped turn me into the person I am today. We are all thankful to have her, despite never knowing what to get her. What do you give the person who deserves the world?

She has taught me countless things, so in honor of Mother’s Day, here’s a short list of lessons from her, as well as Bible verses for all of the other moms out there.

•People are mean. It’s our job to be the nice ones.
•Be honest. It’s easier to keep up with the truth.
•Love your family. It’s vital to spend time with the ones you love.
•Express your feelings. We don’t have to keep everything bottled up inside.

•Have faith. We have to believe that everything will be okay.
•Always pray. It’s necessary for our journey in Christ.
•Filter your influences. Make God the most of what you watch and listen.
•Go to church. It’s important to get the Word in, whether it’s online or in person.

“She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.” Proverbs 31:26

“The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.” Proverbs 14:1

“Houses and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is from the Lord.” Proverbs 19:14

“Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.” Proverbs 1:8-9

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these
is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13
