The shepherds were living in the fields and keeping watch over their flock. In the night, the angel of the Lord appeared to them surrounded in the glory of the Lord. The shepherds were terrified, but the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I have good news that will bring joy to all. A Savior has been born to you today in the city of David. He is the Messiah!
